Rectal prolapse surgery

With this condition the walls of your rectum become weak causing part of the wall to drop through the anus. During this surgery, your consultant will reach the prolapse through the anal canal and start stripping back the lining from the prolapse until the muscle of the wall is exposed. This is then stitched together in order to strengthen the area.
